Flats, bungalows and villas
Most new homes in Ahmedabad are flats: 2, 3 and 4 BHK towers along SG Highway, Science City Road and Sindhu Bhavan Road, and townships in Shela and South Bopal. Bodakdev, Thaltej and Satellite hold older bungalows alongside the towers, and the city keeps growing north through Gota and Chandkheda and east through Nikol and Vastral.
We take on all of them. In a flat, we make every square foot of carpet area work: storage in the lofts and under the beds, a kitchen that seats two, a TV unit wall that hides the wiring. In a bungalow or a villa, we draw every floor, the staircase and the outdoor spaces as one set of materials.
Built for Ahmedabad summers
Ahmedabad summers run past 40°C, and the dry months bring dust. We plan for both: closed storage where open shelves would collect dust, boards and edge-banding that hold up beside the hob, curtains lined against the afternoon sun, and fans and AC placed so the air reaches the whole room.
For the monsoon, we use boiling-water-proof plywood wherever water can reach: under the sink, in the utility and beside the bathrooms.
